He has many years of experience as a cook. After enrolling to the Hotel and Catering School, he then preferred to discover the tricks of the trade by working alongside established Chefs. Following his first work experiences in his hometown, Naples, the love for cooking made him travel throughout Italy. He attended courses and formative internships to refine his technique.
After many trips and the discovery of several beautiful places, he ended up in Porto Ercole where he began to work in various famous venues and on luxury yachts. He falls in love with this place and its people; but also with its sea and the products it offers. The idea of having a restaurant of his own became increasingly strong. This would be a place where to express himself and make his great passion for cooking known.
After his daughter Alice was born, he decided to dedicate “Alicina Hosteria” to her. Thus, in 2014, he took over this small place overlooking the harbour.
Ivan Silvestri puts body and soul into the management of Alicina. His creativity, simplicity, but also attention to detail and care in the choice of raw products, become the strengths of the restaurant. His dishes are presented in an exceptional manner, making them beautiful to look at. Furthermore, short cooking times enhance the taste of freshly caught fish, with balanced flavours combined in an original way.
